Abstract
Adhering to the philosophy of openness, innovation, sharing and win-win, it applies mobile technology, cloud computing, and art data to build an auction platform for items donated by traditional donators to art institutions (museums and art galleries). It hopes to improve the efficiency of the whole art donation industrial chain, reduce customer transaction cost, attract more customers, make the donation more transparent and sharpen high net worth individuals’ focus on art.
We plan to leverage the historical significance of works within the art museum’s permanent collections, to bring large-scale donations to the institutions that hold them. Providing a new naming rights opportunity for the museum.
We will bring masterpieces to auction, offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to bid on the most recognizable works of art in the world. The auction setting was chosen for a few reasons. First, it incentivizes competitive bidding between donors. We can see how robust this competition can be by looking at auction results in the past few years. The second reason we chose the auction format is that we want this event to be a sectile. We want the world to watch as money is raised and celebrate the large donations achieved by the end of the night.
