Abstract
Matoi was founded to create a lifestyle brand that follows the mentality to work hard, play hard, but also to rest hard - and stylishly. We aim to bring a cultural twist to the luxury leisure market by offering a new standard of comfort with a deeply rooted Asian sensibility. Our lounge pieces, ranging from robes, pajama sets, light jackets, to accessories like sleep masks, will attract those looking East. While businesses flourish in China, the luxury fashion business is also looking in that direction. Matoi is building a brand to attract International millennials, specifically TCKs (Third Culture Kids) who have a deep affinity for multiple cultures. With its foundation in fashion, Matoi is a platform for cultural dialogue, especially for creatives. Not only will Matoi have collaborations with artists to create clothes, but it will also eventually become a larger enterprise as an Art Center in Japan.
