Abstract

Megan Stout Design is a full-service interiors firm rooted in delivering artful spaces
with a sense of easygoing elegance — from its architectural heritage to its modern spirit. We focus on high end residential and commercial hospitality projects coupled with art advisory services. We can assist in all aspects of a project from start to finish, including but not limited to consulting with architects and artists, as well as providing a tailor-made approach to finishes, furnishings, and custom drawings. Working within a clear and transparent time frame, we track everything from costs to schedules. We’re conversant in the languages of art and design with technical expertise and project management skills. At Megan Stout Design, our goal is to turn houses into homes, and our artistically inspired, timeless approach to design is ever evolving and always inspired. Today, many millennials are intimidated by the interior design process. Except for those passionate and interested in art, most fear the process as they do not quite understand what works well in a space, and what does not. Marrying art and space is neither a simple nor easy procedure – that is why hiring a designer with an art background can be so helpful. The missing piece in a typical interior design business is an intentional juxtaposition in architecture, decoration, and art advising. While often an
afterthought to design, art selection must be considered in many aspects of the design strategy from the layout of the room, the color palette, to the client’s personal style. According to the UBS Art Market Report of 2021, Millennial High Net Worth (HNW) individual collectors were the highest spenders in 2020, having spent over $1 million in fine art. Additionally, 66% of the survey participants reported that their interest in collecting had significantly grown during the pandemic.
