It celebrates the publication of a new book, "When Artists Curate," written by Green and commissioned by Corris, published by Reaktion Press in London.

Since the 1970’s, Daze was one of the founding generation of street artists in New York City. His work, originally shown alongside Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, is now exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide. While his work is included in major public collections such as MoMA NY, The Brooklyn Museum, and The Ludwig Museum in cologne, he continues to create public murals and work in collaboration with youth groups. He is also a consultant, alongside fellow artist Crash and musician, Nas, for the series “The Get Down” on Netflix, directed by Baz Luhrmann. This talk provides a unique opportunity to hear about his acclaimed career and his reflections on New York City as a creative hub.

Women Leaders in the Art Market

Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York, is delighted to launch a new Speaker Series bringing together leading artists, curators, and art professionals from the art world in a public forum to exchange ideas and to foster an open dialogue about the state of the art market and art making today. The inaugural panel discussion, Women Leaders in the Art Market, brings together contemporary art market influencers, Marianne Boesky of the Marianne Boesky Gallery, Amy Cappellazzo, Chairman of Global Fine Arts at Sotheby’s, Elizabeth Dee of the Elizabeth Dee Gallery and Independent Art Fair, and Touria El Glaoui of 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair. This event will coincide with the reopening of the campus after an extensive renovation and expansion. The conversation will be lead by Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York, Director, Christine Kuan, who joined the Institute in January 2016 from Artsy.
