Transformations
Brian Metzger
Sotheby's Institute of Art is pleased to present TRANSFORMATIONS, a group exhibition curated by Brian Metzger, Master of Art Business candidate class of 2016. The exhibit is on view from November 29 to December 5, 2016.
This class takes a skills-based approach to curatorial practice. Students work independently and/or in groups to produce a unique exhibition and present it to a community of peers and guests. Students develop and complete the entire curating and commissioning process: researching and selecting artists and artworks; mounting the exhibition; developing a public program; and marketing and hosting the event. Students gain first-hand experience working with living artists, writing curatorial publications, and all other aspects of exhibition making. By the end of the course, students are literate in the range of skills necessary to produce a professional exhibition, a series of events, and an artist commission.
