Abstract

This white paper explores the importance of art fairs in Toronto, Canada as a sales channel and attempts to answer in the affirmative or the negative the question posed by the title of the paper--is Toronto, Canada “ready or not ready” based on art market demand to support multiple contemporary art fairs? The primary research focus of this white paper is on fairs where exhibitors (dealers) sell art on behalf of artists and not fair models where artists sell directly to collectors/buyers.
